Hi every I have my gas and electric supplied by SSE and am on their 'no standing charge' deals for both. Whilst I essentially 'only pay for what i use' i did a little maths and realised the gas cost in particular is crazy high! My meter moved from 12159 to 12170 with the expected few hours use and once i entered these figures online I was quoted to owe £11.37, essentially over £1 per unit. Is it me or does this seem over the going rate? I would like a 'no standing charge tarrif if possible, but surely there must be some better deals. Ive tried comparison websites and they are confusing, so any honest reccomendations? Thanks for your answer Adrian. I already have both fuels with SSE, which is why I am baffled. Waiting for a call back from the vet on what needs to happen but I'm afraid he's not going to opt to do much. (My reasoning behind this thought is because my square bale supplier had given me bales with horse nettle despite having good hay in the past, so I never thought to check it. I took every my hay back of course but my vet said it was nothing to worry about.) I called pretty early this morning but it's a Monday so I'm assuming they're nice of swamped. I want to post here just to be sure I'm doing what I can in the meantime. I discovered last night that two horses have gotten some ulcers and were bleeding, it was getting dark and a storm was coming in so I was limited in the amount of time I had to really look them over. I went out this morning after I called and had a closer look, found some of the sores -- but not many -- were slightly impacted. I found there was yellow foxtail in the hay. They weren't bleeding this morning and looked pretty good compared to what was going on last night. Still eating easily and don't appear otherwise fussy. Only two/five horses have ulceration and it isn't intense, so I've been doing what I can to clean them up with some salt water. They're not crazy about this obviously. I cleaned them every up just in case. Is there anything else I can do for them besides the saline solution cleansing? Anything to help relieve the pain so I can try and do some more thorough cleaning? The two that are affected just want to toss their heads despite not being head shy and otherwise well behaved when it comes to oral care. Until the vet calls back I don't know what to do about this. I don't know if he'll opt to do sedation or not. :/ I'm assuming this is recent, due to the fact I only just put out the new roll on Saturday, and haven't observed anything like this over the last two weeks while feeding this supplier's hay. This hay has been my favorite so far, the quality was superior and I didn't find any weeds, obviously, until now. So I guess I'm on the hunt again... TL;DR: Called the vet, waiting for return call. Two out of five horses have minute ulcers from foxtail. Pretty recent, doesn't look very bad. Cleaning with salt water. Anything else I can do until I hear back from the vet? Anything to relieve pain to make cleaning easier? Anything to help with cleaning process to prevent head tossing in horses that are otherwise fine with handling of the mouth? I've done what I know to do up to this point so now I'm just looking for some outside guidance while I wait for the vet. I can receive them to open up and peel back their lips to look but if I even arrive close with the syringe they want to freak so I think the sting is really turning them off to cleaning up properly. They have no issues with a syringe otherwise so it's not a desensitization thing they need working on, I need some ideas on pain relief to make cleaning easier if that's at every a possibility. For the solution I boiled water for 10min and allowed it to chilly to room temp, added 1 tablespoon of salt to 2 cups. I read several different suggestions on multiple forums and most said to add as much as would dissolve but I did feel that was too much. Would the 1 tablespoon to 2 cups be too much? The temperature of the water was no problem, by the time I'd managed to do those that were easy to flush and receive back to the tossers it had managed to chilly very considerably. It's windy out as well, gusting up to 40mph, so I don't know if this would have anything to do with their irrational behavior or not. Still haven't got a call back, if I don't hear anything by 4:30 I'll ring them again and request the sedation. Vet called back. Said once the hay was removed they should do well to resolve on their possess but if I noticed they weren't getting any better in the next few days we'd sedate them. --- Alrighty, I've made a couple more cups per those directions. They're still being fussy and I don't blame them but I think it's getting easier... I'll check out the Maalox as well. I'd read someone mention that for it's pain relieving effects on a forum post but wasn't sure so wasn't prepared to give that a whirl. We do a lot of canning so I've got plenty of the canning salt. What I mean is, there are certain roles, certain people are willing to play, and certain roles they're not. I used to receive so mad at people for being sucky friends, but now I understand that I have power over who I decide to "promote" to the role of best pal. I am the CEO of my network. Getting mad at someone for not being able to fill that role is like hiring an 18 year old with no professional experience, putting them into the CFO's office and getting upset when the company goes below. Some people are CFO's; these are your best friends, the people you can depend on to help you when you really need it. Likewise, if they need it, you'd be there for them to the best of your ability. They giggle, sob, grieve, party, and hang out with you. Some people are Regional Managers. Not necessarily "My BFF that I've known since I was 12," but definitely chilly people, good friends you'd hang out with, giggle and maybe sob with, but you probably wouldn't call them about that rash on your neck. Some people are Sales Associates. Not quite as close as Regional managers, but when you look them, you have great conversations. You may giggle and party with these people; maybe you work with them or they're in one of your classes. chilly people, but maybe not the ones to call regularly. Facebook Friends. And finally, some people are Suppliers. They're there strictly to party with, or strictly to joke around with in certain situations, or strictly to ____. Not really good friends at every, but if you want to party, they're there. If you're in the emergency room, or if you're having a tough time with a breakup, don't look for these people to be around. Been given a chance to become NCS Coordinator. I think I did really well in my role. I am confident working on my possess and dealing with queries. So my brother has been injecting and abusing heroin for months now. He got arrested twice and has been ordered to go to rehab or jail. He was admitted to detox 4 days ago and sounds better and isn't as uncomfortable. He wants to turn his life around and he wants to receive better. We just found out that the rehab place has a three week waiting list, so their sending him home tomorrow (Saturday). He'll be an out-patient in the mean time and will be getting urine tested three times a week. My parents, husband and I every agreed that it would be best if he came and stayed with my husband and I for the three weeks before rehab (and maybe even afterwards). My parents didn't receive a chance to clean up his room or prepare for him and their are two houses on the block that are heroin suppliers. We just think it's too soon for him to be thrown back in the lions den. We have room for him, he's comfortable with us and loves visiting, he won't be alone every day and he'll be nowhere close any of his "contacts". I'm very close with him and he's able to really talk to me, I've also gone through this with friends. If he slips up, he'll go to jail or die..we want to avoid that at every costs. Even if it means home-arrest with us. So, does anyone have any advice to make him more comfortable? He has detoxed already, but just in general, can he have a beer or two? Something to help him snooze, or tylenol is he has any aches? Does anyone have any experience with anything natural that can help? Any advice or tips would be great. Ok, I am a licensed reseller of fireworks in SC. This year I found some fireworks on craigslist from a business that went "out of business" There were price tags on this and everything seemed ok. A couple days before New Years my wholesale supplier let me know that the goods that I have received were stolen from his warehouse I buy 100k wholesale of fireworks from him a year I have no reason not to trust him, I told him if he is sure that they are his to take them and file a police report. I also told him that I would pay for the ones that I had already sold. So here comes the questions. 1) I wrote a check to the lady that sold me stolen goods. I put a cease payment on it. She has contacted me stating she was going to turn me into the police for a bounced check. Okay, so I'm looking for another Polaroid camera. Which film would be the easiest and cheapest to find? I currently have a spectra, a square shooter and an sx-70 but their films are uncommon, expensive or both. I know Polaroid film is expensive but I was hoping for a better alternative. I'm thinking of getting a 600 but I'd like to hear thoughts about this first. Please don't suggest Fujifilm (or Polaroid 300 that looks like a Fuji) to me because I really hate them. Second, I'm looking for film for my square shooter but type 80 film is rather rare. I hear a lot of things about people using type 660, the ones in the 108 family and even Fujifilm FP-100C. (I'm not up for using stuff from Impossible Project but I'll but them if they're on ebay.) Are any of these true? Has anyone tried this for real? (I'm not at ease until I look its legit because of the format difference and every; also because its expensive.) What, of the 3, is the best, considering: quality, price and availability?
